Our Plans

  • Maintain a close working relationship with all units, academic and non-academic, on matters pertaining to quality assurance in their spheres of operation.
  • Train and raise awareness among students and staff about quality assurance through workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Benchmark quality assurance good practices with other institutions
  • Conduct routine and ongoing checking of the University’s services and policies to ensure compliance with practices, standards, regulations and guidelines
  • Audit operational services to ensure compliance with expected standards.
  • Guide the University in reviewing organizational performance.
  • Update unit heads with new information on QA issues and supply them with the required evaluation schedules and instruments.
  • Facilitate unit and program evaluations; provide unit heads with feedback on external and internal evaluation results and advise on the proper implementation of improvements as recommended by review teams

The Directorate’s activities includes, but not limited to:

  1. Enhancing the understanding of QA, its values and contribution towards the University mission and vision
  2. Developing and rising sensitization of the university community on QA policies and issues
  3. Conducting Student Evaluation of Courses and Teaching
  4. Promoting the provision of environment conducive for teaching, learning, and research & community services
  5. Carrying out self-assessment of the quality assurance processes and activities (including university ranking)
  6. Monitoring tertiary institutions affiliated to Busitema University
  7. Reviewing and analyzing External process and reports
  8. Tracing graduates on employability, conducting employer expectation surveys and student satisfaction surveys.
  9. Coordinating Continuous professional development of staff and tracking students’ progress
  10. Establishing the quality assurance strategies executed at Busitema University
  11. Identifying challenges impacting on quality assurance and implement corrective actions/measures
  12. Benchmarking and creating collaborations with other Higher Educations Institutions.
